Biography

Degrees: Throughout my time working for the Church, I have taken advantage of various education opportunities at NMSU, the Univ. of Notre Dame, Immaculata Univ., and St. Joseph College.

Professional Background: My journey working for the Church began at a very young age as the parish organist for Holy Cross Church in Las Cruces, NM. Playing the organ at Mass convinced me that I was destined to minister to God’s people through liturgy and music. I have served the Church both on the diocesan and parish levels in Texas, South Dakota, Maine, New Mexico, Connecticut, and prior to coming to OLGC, serving as Director of the Office of Divine Worship for the Diocese of Raleigh, where at the time Bishop Burbidge was the Bishop.

How I put my Faith into Action: The Church teaches that the Liturgy is the source and summit from which to to which our faith life flows. I passionately believe that joining together as the Body of Christ at Mass is the single most important thing we will do all week. Everything we are and can be we encounter at Mass. Because of this passion and my varied experience I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve the Church’s worship in a unique way. I have been able to bring a wealth of experience & knowledge to OLGC Community, from the planning, preparation, & execution of various celebrations of Liturgy to providing formation and ministry training.

Favorite Activity Outside of Work: Reading, watching sports, especially football (Go Pats!), baseball (go Sox!) and Hockey (go Canes!)

Favorite Food: Do I really have to choose a favorite?

Favorite Moment you had in your Vocation: There are really too many to say one is my favorite. However, I remember a Priesthood Ordination Mass when everything went really well, people sang and prayed, everything fell into place and there was a great excitement after Mass. Everybody had great things to say about the Mass, but what stood out was when someone said to me they truly knew God was in the room. Isn't that what it's all about?

Fun Fact About You: They're all fun!

Favorite Quote: "Going to Church no more makes you a Christian, than going to a garage makes you a car."

Favorite Saint: Saint John Paul II
