Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass in Spanish – December 12th 7:00pm – Church Followed by a reception in DeSales Hall

It was a chilly day in December 1531 when Juan Diego was walking in the desert on his way to Mass. Suddenly, a lady in a blue mantle appeared with a crown of 12 stars and the moon under her feet. The lady was the Virgin Mary and she told him to ask the Bishop to build a chapel on the Tepeyac Hill in her honor. After Juan made many futile pleas to Bishop Zummarraga, finally he complied with Our Lady's wish and built the church. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patron saint of Mexico and the Americas.

Annual Auction Gala: April 21, 2018

Save the Date!

The 25th Annual Auction Gala "Transform the Ordinary with Great Love" will be on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the McLean Hilton.

Stamp Drive

Annual drive to collect canceled postage stamps.

Thanks to all of you who continue to donate your stamps throughout the year!

Please start to save stamps. Commemorative and foreign stamps, and those with high value are highly desirable. The most important thing to remember is that a 1/4" border of paper must remain around the stamps, otherwise they will be discarded. Every year many are thrown away because the margins of the stamps were damaged due to trimming too closely.

Your donations will be sent to the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Notre Dame, Indiana where they are processed by volunteers and sold. The profits are used by the Sisters to minister to the underserved people of the United States as well as in various locations around the world. Also desirable are abandoned stamp albums and collections, unused stamps and other philatelic items such as First Day Covers, Souvenir Programs, etc.

Please deposit your items in the designated basket just inside the entrance to the Administration Office. Thank you so much for lighting your candle to brighten the world for the poor among us! Call Marge Van Lierde if you have any questions: 703-790-5460.
