OLGC TEENS - WHY WE ARE HERE.
The OLGC Youth Ministry program, through a deeper exploration of our relationship with God, neighbor,
and ourselves, recognizes the uniqueness and capabilities of each teen, strives to enable teens to lead
responsible and productive lives, to make smart and good life decisions, and to successfully meet the
demands and the challenges of tomorrow's society. This is accomplished through social, spiritual and service
activities. The group is open to registered young people in grades 6-12; with separate Junior High (gr 6, 7 & 8)
and High School (gr 9-12) programs.
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY - Open to high school students grades 9-12,
we offer a wide selection of activities, outings and events and provide a safe and fun environment for teens to
get to know each other, themselves, and God. From weekly Sunday NightLife meetings to trips and retreats and
service opportunities, we really do offer something for everyone.

SOME OF WHAT WE DO
HIGH SCHOOL FALL RETREAT: Held early in the school year – meet new people and start the year off right with
our Lock-In retreat experience!
HIGH SCHOOL SPRING RETREAT: Held in the Spring every year. This retreat will help connect teens with their
friends, themselves, and God. .
WORKCAMP - We offer two WorkCamp experiences:
• For our high school students (current 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders), HIGH SCHOOL WORKCAMP is a week-long trip to a
destination where we live, work, and share our faith together. For 2011, we plan to travel to Canonsburg,
Pennsylvania with 50 teens and 10 adult leaders. Our information and registration meeting is scheduled for
September 12, 2010 at 7:00p in DeSales Hall. Questions?
Email Christy or Anthony
or call 703.896.7409.
• For our junior high students (current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders), JUNIOR HIGH WORKCAMP
is a local community service half-week to be held in July 2011. Join us for this great service outreach
experience! More information on this experience will be released later in the year.
NIGHTLIFE - This is our regularly scheduled gathering during the school year.
We gather together to play games, meet with friends, share our faith, and discuss topics relevant to your life.
Junior High meets on the Third Thursday of each month, while High School meets weekly each Sunday evening.
TEEN MASS - The JrHigh and High School youth are invited to celebrate the Eucharist
together on the second Sunday of the month at the 5:30 Mass. It is a great chance to gather with your peers
and show the congregation the awesome and vibrant faith of our teens. Get involved as a lector, usher,
altar server, member of the choir, or just be present to each other in the congregation.
SMALL GROUP FORMATION - Maybe coming to NightLife is not your
thing, or you just don’t have time Sunday night, but you still want the chance to explore your faith
and share it with friends. Small group formation is a great way for this to take place.
Meeting times and location would be determined by the group’s needs and availability. It could be
Seasonal (Lent/Advent) or year long. Bible Study, Guided Reflection, Prayer Group, etc. or based on
special talents and interests (knitting, art, cooking, running, you name it!).
ADVENTURE NIGHTS AND SPECIAL EVENTS - Watch the bulletin for details on our
special events just for you! We will be scheduling regular outings for lots of fun. The more the merrier
so come with friends!
