Mrs. Amy W. de Bernardo
Degrees: B.A. in Theological Studies with a minor in Psychology from Saint Louis University; M.A. in Theology from the University of Notre Dame
Professional Background: My passion for Catholicism and parish life began as a child in Memphis, Tennessee with many thanks to the Christian witness of my parents and the supportive community of my home parish. When I wasn’t studying at college, you could find me working at Campus Ministry, volunteering with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for Kindergarteners and 1st Graders, working with Students for Life, leading Alpha Sigma Nu (the Jesuit Honor Society) and enjoying the friendships with which God blessed me.
As part of my formation with Notre Dame's Echo program, I served as an apprentice catechetical leader in the Diocese of Camden, NJ for two years, learning the trade of parish ministry at Christ the King Catholic Church in Haddonfield, NJ. Following this grad school experience, I came to OLGC and have enjoyed being a part of this community and working with Faith Formation for the past 4 years.
How I put my Faith into Action: Faith comes into play everyday with my job! As I coordinate different ministries and engage others in their faith, it is essential for my own faith to be practiced. I pray that Christ's light and love may guide all that I do so that others may grow in greater relationship with Him!
Favorite Activity Outside of Work: Spending time with family and friends!
Favorite Food: Chocolate
Favorite Moment you had in your Vocation: There have been many beautiful aspects of my vocation, but my favorite part of ministry has been walking with others in their faith journey.
