Welcome from the Pastor

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Community! Welcome and hospitality are key virtues in a Christian community, and we hope that you will always feel welcome here, whether as a visitor or as a parishioner. Please join us for Sunday or weekday Mass. As you continue to visit our website, I hope you will find a ministry, club, opportunity for service or an organization that interests you.

The community is blessed with many generous, interested and involved volunteers. We have a very dedicated staff. The parish priests belong to a religious community, the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales and have ministered at the parish for over sixty years. Because of the Oblate presence, the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales is one of the unique features of our parish community.

This year our theme for the 2021-2022 year is “Moving Forward Together in the Service of God”.

Thank you for taking the time to visit us. Please review our calendar of events to find parish activities that interest you and then come join us to be a part of them. Feel free to contact me or a member of our staff if we can be of assistance. I pray that God bless you and those whom you love!

Live Jesus!

Fr. Matt

We encourage all baptized Catholics who live within our parish boundaries to become registered members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. OLGC parish includes liturgy and worship celebrations, receiving the sacraments, growing in our faith through formation, fellowship events, outreach projects, and supporting us financially to assist the community.  We encourage all families to be actively engaged in parish life to nurture their relationship with God and one another.

If you are Catholic and register as a member of our parish, we will be able to serve your needs more completely. Members can receive their sacraments here, receive a sponsor letter for sacraments, enroll in our school or parish religious education programs, receive tuition assistance if needed, and receive our parish communications. Fill out the Registration Formand for additional information, contact Christine Moan at 703.896.7413.

If you are not baptized or are baptized in another faith and have questions about becoming Catholic, please contact Amy W. de Bernardo, Director of Christian Formation, 703.896.7414.
