Adult Involvement

There are two main ways to be involved as an adult for WorkCamp: becoming either a contractor or adult crew leader.

Both these roles are crucial to the success of WorkCamp! For every 5 youth we bring, we must have both an adult crew leader and a contractor. Please read more about each role below!

This could be you!

Adult Crew Leader

An adult crew leader is a OPCYP compliant adult (25+) who will serve alongside the other adults and teens at WorkCamp. Each day, they will be responsible for driving their crew to the worksite and working with the contractor and the teens to finish their tasks. They will need to be authorized diocesan drivers. In the evenings, they will be present to the youth at program and spend time getting to know them. Adult crew leaders must be present the entirety of the week.

There is one mandatory training meeting in March. Check the links for the dates

We must bring 1 adult crew leader per 5 youth of that specific sex (i.e., every 5 female teens=1 female adult crew leader and every 5 male teens=1 male adult crew leader)

Contractor

Contractors (21+) are men and women who are skilled at basic home repair and maintenance and act as a project leader during WorkCamp. These skills can be anything from interior or exterior painting to building wheelchair ramps or decks and many projects in between. Contractors are not required to remain at the headquarters nor are they required to come to evening programming (but they are welcome to!)

There is one mandatory meeting for contractors in May. Check the links for the date.

We must bring 1 contractor per 5 youth.
