Annual Food Drive for Britepaths & CHO

Food~Personal Items~Monetary Donations Needed for Local Charities

Britepaths & CHO annual food drive during the month of June.

All donations due in Admin Bldg no later than June 29.

See below for specific needs or click for flyer.

Our Lady of Good Counsel will once again be collecting food and monetary donations during the month of June for Britepaths (formerly Our Daily Bread) families and the Committee for Helping Others (CHO).

CHO is a local, loving charity serving the needs of Vienna, Oakton, Dunn Loring and Merrifield. CHO is dependent upon the OLGC Parish community to keep the pantry fully stocked during the summer. The children receiving food from the pantry typically get subsidized breakfast and lunch at school and when school is not in session, food for these families becomes a constant challenge.

Britepaths is a volunteer-based organization focused on easing the plight of low-income residents living in Fairfax County. Their mission is to serve families, including the elderly and disabled, who are not homeless, but the working poor. Holding multiple jobs but having difficulty meeting monthly expenses, many of those currently being helped are children. Food and personal items will be delivered to approximately 30 families on July 1.

All monetary donations, collected during June, will be used to purchase food gift cards for Britepaths' families in December. Please make all checks payable to Our Lady of Good Counsel.

If you would like to assist with this drive please contact either Peggy Loudin or Jane Heishman
