Food Drive a Great Success
Food Drive a Great Success

It is with sincere gratitude that we thank you for the donations to Britepaths (formerly Our Daily Bread), and Community for Helping Others (CHO). We collected just over 1,100 pounds of food and personal items. Monetary donations totaled $1950. We used $425 for food gift cards for Britepaths families due to their special needs. Approximately $1525 will be sent to Britepaths families in December in the form of food gift cards to get families through the winter season.

Many of the children receiving the donations are dependent on free breakfast and lunch during the school year. With the school year just about over, your donations are critical in keeping children fed. CHO is always in need of food and personal items. These items would include just about everything but most especially: cooking oil, pancake mix and syrup, cereal, canned tuna/chicken, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce and all sorts of personal items including laundry detergent and diapers, size 5 and 6. We collect food for CHO at every monthly Donut Social.

We sincerely appreciate Fathers Hillyard, Dolan, and Metzger emphasizing this yearly drive. It would not have been possible to raise the monetary donations, food, and personal items without their unanimous support.

There were numerous volunteers who donated many hours of work to this important cause, whether passing out flyers, collecting donations, sorting food, or delivering donated items all over Fairfax County. It is impossible to name everyone, without forgetting someone, so we just want to thank you for your valuable contributions to this important work on behalf of those less fortunate.

Your generosity is making a huge difference. Thank you for caring. - Peggy Loudin and Jane Heishman

From britepaths, "When Janet came to us for help, she needed basic necessities, and without your support, Janet's temporary crisis could have evolved into a greater problem for her and her family." Thanks to you we are able to keep food on families' tables all year long.
