We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Christy Bishop and Ms. Darlyn Matamoros are the winners of the 2024-2025 Aviat Award!  This award is given to dedicated teachers at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School who make a difference in the lives of our students and community.  Thank you to all who submitted nominations for our staff members; we are blessed to have so many wonderful teachers and staff here at OLGC!  Please see what our community shared about our award winners on their nomination forms:

Mrs. Christy Bishop is our Middle School Religion Teacher.  Mrs. Bishop is described as a kind, yet dynamic teacher who finds creative ways to make faith relevant to her middle school students.  She not only teaches religion, she encourages the students to live their faith through her own actions and words.  She invests in the students' lives, and leaves a lasting impression on them.

Ms. Darlyn Matamoros is our Grade 5-8 Spanish teacher.  Ms. Matamoros is described as a teacher who is kind to everyone, and who always greets her students with a smile.  She makes classwork fun, and yet pushes them to be better people and the best versions of themselves they can be.  Students know that Ms. Matamoros' door is always open for them.
